Women's Interclub ... is a recreational, early morning summer doubles league, consisting of three matches played against other local teams. Rosters must be typed and submitted alphabetically with a $15.00 team fee payable to Women's Interclub Tennis.

ADULT TENNIS: LYNMAR LEAGUES
Lynmar is very involved in the local tennis community, and hosts a full schedule of house leagues, plus USTA and CTA programs.

Tennis League INFORMATION & RULES
League sign ups are first come, first served. You may sign up yourself and your partner on the designated sign up day. Spouse may sign up spouse on the appropriate day. If you are out of town and cannot attend the sign up, contact the tennis coordinator to determine a designated sign up person.

Leagues not filled during the initial sign up are then posted on the tennis bulletin board. League rosters will be available for pick up at Lynmar, in the week preceding each league session.

  • You must sign up in your correct NTRP level.
  • You may sign up yourself and partner.
  • Spouse can sign up their spouse on the appropriate day.
  • If neither the partner nor the spouse is available for the sign up, then contact the tennis coordinator for approval for a designated person to attend the sign up.
  • Doubles teams must play at the higher rated players level and only if the partners are no more than one level apart (3.0 and 3.5 is fine; 3.0 and 4.0 is not). At least one partner must be the actual level of the league.
  • When playing on a split level league both players must be one of the levels.

Appeals ... A player who wins 1 or 2 leagues at a given level has the option to move to the next higher level for the next season (immediately following) by submitting a written request to the league coordinator. Requests will be approved or denied by the appeals committee. When a player moves via appeals, then that player must play and/or sub at that higher level.

Cost ... You are billed one lump sum on your Lynmar statement. The cost includes court time, balls, awards, end of season party, and an administration fee. Costs vary from $90.00 to $250.00. The price varies depending on the number of weeks, the court rate, and if it is singles or doubles.

  • League appeals are due the week before league sign ups.
  • A player can appeal to move up one level in league play, if the player wins a previous league or the player can submit a very strong USTA tournament record. (NTRP rating does not  change). To appeal to move up, submit a written request to the tennis coordinator.
  • Making up league matches is highly discouraged. Please pick up a players list and call a substitute.
  • Please commit to playing each week if you sign up to participate in a league.

Play with different people ... more partners ... more fun!

FLIGHT TENNIS ... The first week, players are randomly assigned to a court to play doubles; one set to 5 games with each of the other three people on the court. At 4 games all play a tie breaker. Players earn points by how many total games they win over the course of the three sets. (For example, if Joe Smith won his first two sets 5-3 and 5-4, but then lost his last set 2-5, his score for the evening would be 12.)

On each court, two players with the most points will move up to the next court the following week, while the 2 players with the least amount of points will move down one court. Regardless of which court you are on, you will play with at least one new person every week.
