FITNESS CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Learn more about what's being offered on the current schedule, but please note that not all classes are offered at all times, year-round and low-attendance classes may be cancelled. Group fitness is free for all members!
ABDOMINAL WORKOUT This type of workout will always be in conjunction with another class format such as Kickboxing. Prepare yourself to perform an intense and focused workout on all abdominal muscles.
BOOT CAMP
 
This high intensity cardiovascular workout is not for the faint of heart. Expect Aerobic Kickboxing, High/Lo Aerobics, Step Aerobics, Running, Interval training, or whatever the instructor feels like doing. This class can be anything you want it to be.
CIRCUIT
 
This fitness class focuses on conditioning exercises to improve your performance in tennis, racquetball, snow skiing, hiking and many other Colorado activities. Circuit is an athletic workout combining cardiovascular drills and strength work done in time-specific intervals.
DANCE
 
  • BELLY DANCING  uses the natural movements of the body. You will learn exercises to strengthen the muscles that we need to make the movements flow, and create the precise steps needed to dance. The lively music makes it a fun workout.
  • HIP HOP  Based on street dance and video/commercial dance. Tennis shoes and sweats or shorts preferred.
  • SALSA  A Salsa class like no other. You will learn the basic step of Salsa, partnering up in the class you will learn series of combination. This class is relaxed and non competitive.
KICKBOXING This is a cardio class in its purist form. Martial arts moves performed to the beat of fast-paced music. Bring a towel and extra water as you will need both.
MUSCLE FLEX A weight lifting/ resistance training class performed to the beat of music. Come with a water bottle and expect to sweat.
PILATES This is a beginner class consisting of very gentle exercises done on a mat in either a sitting or lying down position. The primary focus is on awareness of  the spine, proper breathing, core strength and flexibility. The outcome of Pilates training is a balanced body which is strong and supple, flat stomach, balanced legs, and a strong back.
 
  • FITNESS PILATES This more vigorous Pilates session moves at a faster pace than the other Pilates classes, with a strong emphasis on core strength, muscular balance, proper alignment, breathing techniques and flexibility.  Expect some challenging Yoga moves as well.
S.A.S. “SPIN, ABS, & STRETCH”  This fitness class is a combination class incorporating cycling, abdominal exercises and flexibility/relaxation work. It offers 30 minutes of warm-up and gentle/moderate spinning, 20 minutes of abdominal/core work, and 10 minutes of stretching. What a wonderful combo!
SKI CONDITIONING A workout to prepare you for the coming Ski/Snowboarding season. You will be working on your cardiovascular fitness as well as leg strength.
SPINNING A non-impact cardiovascular workout personalized for participants of any age or fitness ability. This high-energy group exercise class uses special stationary cycles designed to emulate an outdoor bicycle ride. Bring a small towel and a round water bottle that will fit in a bicycle water rack. Padded bike shorts and heart rate monitors are highly recommended.
 
  • SPIN 101 This is for anyone who has never been to a spinning class before. Come learn the basics, and soon you will be a pro.
  • SPIN 201 An entry-level Spinning class. This class will move at a low to moderate pace. A great class for beginner exercisers.
  • SPINNING CHALLENGE This ninety-minute class is designed to challenge the experienced spinner. Recommended for the experienced riders only. Bring extra water!
  • SPINNING RACE DAY This advanced spinning class is one hour of intense cycling, keeping the heart rate elevated throughout a variety of cycling drills. Not recommended for beginners.
STEP A cardiovascular workout using Reebok steps that can be adjusted to various heights.
 
  • MULTIPLE STEP An advanced step workout consisting of movements choreographed between four Reebok steps.
TURBO SCULPT
 
This is an advanced muscle toning class which will focus on abs, glutes inner and outer thighs, as well as upper and lower extremities. If you want to sculpt your body this is the class for you.
YOGA
  • BEGINNER YOGA BASICS Yoga will be very basic, with emphasis on the nuances of each pose. This is a great place to start for first timers in yoga or for those who want to improve basic flexibility, core strength, and balance.
  • FITNESS YOGA  This yoga class is more physically demanding than the Quiet Yoga class and consists of beginner, intermediate and advanced Hatha Yoga poses with an emphasis on core strength, while improving your flexibility and balance. Breathing and relaxation techniques are a major focus; morning classes are 90 minutes and the evening class is 60 minutes.
  • YOGALATES is the unifying essence of Yoga and the powerful, therapeutic value of Pilates fused together into one system. It incorporates the flexibility, meditation and weight loss elements of Yoga with the core strengthening and muscle toning of Pilates.
  • QUIET YOGA This is a beginner yoga class focusing on Hatha Yoga poses with an emphasis on improving balance, flexibility, core strength, and concentration. Breathing and relaxation techniques will be emphasized as well.  No previous yoga experience necessary.
WATER AEROBICS Designed as a cardiovascular workout in the pool with minimal impact on the joints. Body toning and flexibility work are included.
 
  • WATER ARTHRITIS CLASS This class is designed for those with limited movement. Program consists of mild Water exercises emphasizing range of motion and strength. This class will benefit Fibromyalgia Lupus, and Arthritis.
