I was thrilled to be asked by Jeanette to consider taking the job as Coordinator of the Tennis Programs here at Lynmar. It was great timing, since Kristi Peck was leaving and I was contemplating returning to work.

I first stepped into Lynmar back in high school, as a guest of my friend and classmate, Kris Kuwata (Judy’s daughter), who taught me enough to try out and make the Doherty tennis team with her. Of course, she played #2 singles and I was #4 doubles! For me, a love of the game and an association with the club began back in the 80s.

After high school I went away to college, served four years in the military, and started a family. Once my daughter and son were in school, I took up tennis again and played in the public parks in northern Virginia and Alabama.

We moved back to Colorado Springs in 2003 when my military husband was assigned to Peterson AFB. I joined Lynmar right away. As a member, I have played in Women’s, Mixed and USTA Leagues, participated in PCTs, joined Tennis Mixers, drills, the Calcutta Tournament and have even karaoked at a couple tennis socials. I do believe Lynmar has more to offer than any other club in town and certainly has the best people to work or play with.

I look forward to keeping the tennis programs thriving that Kristi has set up so well. It is an exciting time to be a part of Lynmar as the improvements, physical and otherwise, continue all around the club.
